Looking for correct mirrors for 1965 Monaco

DM2 - Copy.jpg

Saw this car for sale on kijiji a couple of years ago in Ottawa, about 500 miles from me, I emailed about it then it was gone. This year I was organizing my emails & found he was still in my contacts, so I emailed him & told him I still think about the car & he told me he still had it. He was leaving for Florida & wouldn't be back until June, which was perfect cause I would be there in June to pick up my daughter & could look at it. He was the original owner & still driving it, not sure about this part but he said it's the original paint but it was wet sanded & buffed years ago by someone who owed him money. I was experimenting with the caps, but I am thinking Magnum 500's.

Great story on a very nice car. Too bad he mucked it up a tad with the mirrors but mirrors are available so that is good.
Personally, I think convertibles need the Magnums and RWL tires.

Thanks, I did buy it, & will restore it, looking forward to swap meets. Looking for information, from what I understand 300 convertibles were built only in Canada with a Plymouth dash, there is some confusion about it also being known as a Custom 880.

Nice, it looks like a pretty solid car. I'd be really interested in seeing a picture of it with the Magnum 500's on it, because that's what I was leaning towards for my Polara, with white walls, or red lines. I'd also like to see some interior and under hood pics. Was the original mirror remote control, or not ?

Welcome to the site from the Motor City! I'm excited to see more of it as you must be.

They could be had with either remote control or non remote control mirrors. Driver's remote is fairly common, so far I've only seen one full size 65 Dodge with a passenger side remote control mirror. (On a Monaco in a junk yard ~1977 or so, and yes it followed me out of there.)

I have the quarter panel replacements as well if you find you are in need of a pair.

I may have the mirrors you were asking about too..

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees! That's it! I like the trim ring version over the chrome. Speaking of chrome, are there any chroming places around? There is a place in Tilbury that does a process called Superchrome, has anyone dealt with this process?

I believe my brother has dealt with them in the past and had mentioned that the rates had gone up quite a bit in the past few years but he was extremely pleased with the results:beavisnbutthead:
