What's the skinny on dual point distributors, worth the extra set of points or not ? Thx. in advance...

Distributors used on street cars that have no vacuum advance are worthless to me. Might as well throw money out the window with all the fuel wasted for no good reason.

I've converted every single Mopar I owned since the mid 1970's to Mopar electronic ignition. Very dependable in my book.

I did a Petronix conversion a few years ago. Keeps the stock appearance and runs like clockwork. Just out of curiosity, why use double points?

I never have problems with points. I have had numerous problems with the Chrysler electronic ignitions though. And I don't know anyone that has a Petronix set up in their car and not had problems with it at some point too. I will keep the points, thank you.

Today's modern electronics are dependable, but the early ones in the 70s were not reliable, nor is the Petronix.
