Duke

Be interesting to see if it gets any play from a manufacturer...

Gas turbine and then rotary had good and similar hype in their day...

Old is new again, I wonder how it holds up? Would it wear out in 15,000 miles. Who remembers the GM aluminum 2.3 4cyl in the Vega's?

I'm a little young... I knew a couple people who suckered into them though

My first car was a Vega wagon, tan with woodgrain. One of my dad's friends had a motor that we put in. I did the bodywork with dad's help, he painted it. The same friend gave me the paint. I drove it for a year before the 4cyl started to oil foul spark plugs. A Buick V6 found it's way in it after that.

One of my brothers had a bunch of Vegas. He had it figured out... He would buy them just when the engines needed rebuilding. He was in Texas, so rust wasn't an issue. He'd pull the engine and replace it with one that he already had the machine shop sleeve and he'd rebuilt.

He had a fleet of them... his kids had them... his wife had one... etc. All bought for peanuts and the only cost was the rebuild and a little work.
