So I picked up a set of electric door lock motors from a 71 new yorker today. Wondering if I have any chance of putting them in my 67 newport?

Did you get just the solenoids or also get the related rods that connect to the latch mechanism? Any wiring?

You'll need the wiring, linkage, relays etc.

If you really want power locks, buy an aftermarket kit. Much easier install.

I got the motors and the linkages and connectors. If I do it I would make my own harness...would rather have power windows but those parts were gone already

Also power window kits in the street rod industry realm of things. Claim to be OEM-level quality of components, but don't know about that part, for sure. Might take more fabrication in some cases. The power lock upgrade is probably a bit more straight-forward.

Don't need the stock relay assy. A couple off the shelf SPDT relays from autozone can be made to work. I had the original and it died, very hard part to find so I spent an hour or so wiring in a pair of new ones. It helps to have the service manual and a multimeter. The relay assy is located behind the passenger kick panel where it is subject to water. New modern relays are sealed plastic so water isn't as much of an issue. The real fun is you need to remove the front seats, carpet and console if you have one.

You're gonna need the switches too.
