Evaporator Drain Tubes

Aren't they just a metal tube built into the AC/Heater box that pokes out the firewall?

If not please elaborate - pics if possible.

The rear AC on my wagon has a rubber drain tube from the roof but my front AC is just a metal tube with a foam grommet poking out of the firewall...

The only rubber elbow I know of is the one for the fan - I'm not sure but I think all it does is to take "cooler than engine bay air" from the interior of the heater box to equalise pressure perhaps and cool the fan motor.

Still interested to know if there's an additional piece for the evap drain tube though...

Beats the heck out of me. I've sold a few B body elbows. I'll go out & check the 2 slab cars I have in the yard & see if I can tell what he's wanting.

Some models had a rubber elbow to drain condensate from the box out through the firewall. Models like our 83 5th Ave had the rubber drain fitting too close to the engine block or exh. mani and melted it shut. Water was sloshing around in the box till it ran out on the carpet. Dealer fix was a "box cutter" to cut-back the elbow.

Apparently, we are all in limbo until Scott responds back on exactly the "tube" he is referring to.

Good morning guys. I'm referring to rubber elbows that would connect to the metal tubes that protrude from the firewall. This may or may not be an actual part. I thought these may have existed to divert the water down to avoid it leaking into the cabin. I could be wrong.

Here's what I have. 65 New Yorker with a/c. First pic is blower vent. Second pic is the drain tubes at trans tunnel. My 68 Fury didn't have anything that I could see. I also looked at my 66 Polara it it looks the same as the 65 New Yorker. If you see anything you need let me know

I lightened up the pics so people could see what is being talked about a little better. Thanks for the pics.

As far as the elbow going from the firewall to the blower, I bought all the repops out there and none of them fit the C-body.
I ended up taking one of them, cut out the middle and used a PVC plumbing elbow to fit my 67 Newport correctly.

For the evaporator drain tube, here's an E-body repop.

My repop fit Stan but I can't remember where I got it. Gary Goers possibly.
