Finally broke down and blew $$$ to get my car running right

When considering which intake I wanted, I took a long look at the Holley 300-14 Street Dominator. Good for hood clearance, but I didnt want a single plane on an otherwise stock 440 with 5k lbs and 2.76 gears. Also, quite a few people have been displeased with the quality of them lately. Bad core shift is a common complaint. Older Street Dominators didnt have that problem. The 300-14 also has EGR provisions and a thermal choke well and is a dual pattern intakebthat can take a TQ or a squarebore carb.

The 1215 valley pan with blocked crossover makes a huge difference. No 1200F exhaust gas heating up the manifold. My 350F reading was on an idling engine after a trip to town, measured with a laser infared thermometer on the choke well of the iron manifold near the carb base.
Gotta, I have the crossover blocked from the get go.
