This has been a huge hurdle for a novice like me but at last this weekend the clutch and brake pedals are working really good. The firewall is pretty well done now, and after I get the brake lines figured out the focus will be on getting the engine and tranny installed.

Here is the end result:
- Fabbed an extension on the brake MC plate to provide a solid support for the clutch MC.

The plate had to bend down 11/16" to meet the pedal bolt above the speedo cable.Master Plate 5.jpg

Behind the scenes:
- A new hole in the clutch pedal lever at the location that provides 1" MC stroke.
- The clutch MC linkage is adjustable through the threaded pin.
- The pin swivels inside a bronze bushing that was pressed in.
- The old post is where the return spring goes.

Did you fab that bracket yourself?

No I measured it all up and made a cardboard template then took it over to a welder/fabricator buddy of mine who made the new section and welded it to the original plate. In the meantime I sawed the hole in the firewall to accept the clutch MC pushrod boot, then after the plate was back home I did the final fitting on the bench with the pedals connected. After that I filed out the wrinkles then sanded and painted it, and installed it on the firewall.

Alot of dicking around I wanna tell ya, but worth the effort to get it right at this stage.

I call that fabbing it yourself. :D

Thanks for all the comments hopefully it helps the next guy doing that job. I've already pulled more than my share of quality information off this board thanks to many of you. Info you can't get anywhere else.
