Made a little under 500 to the wheels. 2.2 t2, 555 drive line taken from 87Z, One day we sat down and added them up. We had 16 of them. My son has a program at he shop to install inkenill wire in the block. He was running 27psi with a cometic gasket, The wire was installed under the fire ring. They install a spirit RT motor in one. It is the worlds fasted stick shift Omni to date. low 8's street driven .
The super charged omni was an animal. But not street friendly once it made power. We tried boost referenced 500 Holley's they were street friendly. But then we went to a 600 edelbrock. You had to let the clutch fly at around 5000 to get the boost in. It would pull like no other. But to just roll and stab the throttle it was a pooch.
The turbos are much better. Took to much power to get the supercharger spinning. grabbed the blue one in Ca. rust free, Big block automatic bound. sitting in the front yard. right now. We build cars we don't just dream about it. I have a photo album of cars that I never loaded on the computer. One day I'll share them
My son is into 5.9 cummins right now. we put a common rail in a old dodge here that had a super charge small block. Big power gain. We have two in the drawing. a 38 dodge COE and and I want to do a Cummon's 71 fury wagon to complete the 71 collection. I had a 71 power wagon done but was hit head on by a Caddy. Sort of like the trains above. LOL. My bumper went through is windshield . I would still have it but i went in the house to eat while it was on the frame machine. the pump was stuck and it ripped the truck in half. so That was the end of that.
Omni's were not the only cars built here. Tons of fast cars that still live on some of these sites today. I just saw one of our GTX's for sale on Moparts. and a Duster on a-bodies. a Cummins truck on youtube.
But you'll never see a 73 newyorker. I just think the front ends are butt ugly with the big rubber guards. I grew up in 60's and when they added the 5 mph bumpers I hated them. Just Me?
