Because...

My Dad has a Yashica Pentamatic that I used when I was a kid. It had 1000th of a second shutter speed which I guess was a pretty big deal for a 1960's SLR.

I have a Minolta 7000 that has issues.
I'm looking for a Sony DSLR so that I can at least make use of the AF lenses I have for it.

Kevin.

If you mean Minolta Maxxum 7000 then you have A mount lenses. Any Sony DSLR, that takes A (now alpha) mount lenses will work. Only problem is that there maybe only three models left in production as they have moved to their E mount mirrorless bodies. Last I saw was the Sony a58, a68, and a77 II. Of course older used cameras will work from Sony, Konica-Minolta, or Minolta. I have five A mount lenses for my Maxxum 7000 cameras which all still work. I found the exact Minolta DSLR Maxxum 7D (2004) I had been looking for over four years for my lenses.

There is a Yashica Penta in my collection which was Yashica's first SLR with the Pentamatic second.

I had a Yashicamat 124 and a Yashica Electro 35 GL in my collection. Both were bulletproof and even my Hassellblad EL/m didn't take as nice a shot as the Yashicamat. I miss that camera ... I miss being able to process medium format reasonably.

Yes it's a Maxxum 7000.

I have a few Yashica 124s and an Electro 35 my parents bought new in the 60s. Have a bunch of parts for the 124s. Used to repair them.
Have a Rollei TLR and a Rollei 126 SLR.
Anyone have any Robot split frame 35mm? Got a bunch. Used to repair those also.

Parts for the 124? The Yashica 12 and 24 share many of the same parts especially the crank system. My 24 has two teeth missing off the main crank gear which messes up advancing the film at a predictable rate. You wouldn't have one of those gears under the exterior crank arm?

I bought one of the 1st Nikon F2z Imported into this country back in the early 70z. And I'll openly add here that I'm ah point and shoot box camera kinda guy and alwayz felt that I waz over my head with that SLR but it waz fun(bought it because I thought It'd be the latest thing in cameraz for longer then I'd be on the planet lol). Gave it to our Daughter 2 yearz ago when we moved south. 'Spose she'd let me borrow it for Carlisle if I'd ask? They do still sell 35MM color film don't they? My .02 on the camera subject, Jer

A Nikon F2, huh? Pretty much the acknowledge top of the line, preferred by professionals, all time best Nikon. Built like an M60 Abrams. Yes, lots of 35mm film is available and will be for a very long time I suspect.
