I'm having an issue with the front end bottoming out over small bumps. I'm wondering if the torsion bars require adjustments or all out replacement...or is it a shock issue? I could attempt an adjustment but the car already appears to sit a little higher at the front so I don't want too much of a "sloped" look. Suggestions?

When you hit a bump, does the front end bounce around uncontrollably? Either your torsion bars are super tired or you need shocks....I'd start with the shocks first. Get a pair of stiffer shocks and I bet your issues will stop or be less frequent.

It's not uncontrollable, I just had it bottom out hard over bump at very slow speed. Not something I want to happen often. I'll start with new shocks and see what that does.

has your car had any modifications like an engine upgrade from 383 to 440 as an example? if so the front torsion bars would have to be replaced to the heavier duty units to handle the extra weight. Just a shot in the dark here as it is curious that this issue should start up all of a sudden.

It has the stock 440 in it. I just picked it up a month ago so just experiencing some of these issues for the first time.

Just put in new HD shocks this afternoon and get back to us.
You have to do that first.
Anybody that tries to diagnose the problem just sitting at a keyboard is just wasting your time and money.
STEP 1: Replace shocks.
STEP 2: Test drive.
STEP 3: Report back...

Not sure what you mean, never changed shocks before...newbies...

Not sure if things changed on the front suspension from 68 to 69, but them shocks can be a real pain if they are not compressed. It's a tight fit. Nevermind you have a 68 also....

Id be curious to see if this car has had any mods done to it before you bought it, how many miles on it?
