Can anyone confirm if the gas cap on a 62/63 Chrysler is supposed to be vented or not? I have a vented one on there, but if I park on a hill, with the gas tank at the lower point with a full tank, gas will leak out from the gap. Does this mean it should have a non-vented cap?
I just wanted to be sure in case I would over-pressurizing the tank by swapping caps.

The car has the filler in the rear of the car.

Thank you

Should be a vented tank, but crawl under and look for another tube into the tank up front that runs upward, easy way to check it.

Ya, there's another line that runs alongside the tank and then just ends at an opening forward of the tank itself.

I guess that means I'm safe to put a non-vented gas cap on?

You can try one and see what happens. If it vapor locks on you it's not a good idea.

I used a vented cap on the '62 New Yorker I used to own, and am using one on my '70 Newport now, even though it's not supposed to have one.
