Grinding gears

Alright you brightest and best out there. When I do a 1-2 or 3-2 shift the trans wants to grind, but there is no such issue if I skip 2nd and go 1-3, or in any of these other shifts, 2-3, 3-4, 4-3, 2-1. Of course if I wait for the revs to drop it slides in like a hot knife in butter. 2nd gear syncros? I'm guessing I have to remove the trans and get some work done.

Definitely 2nd gear synchros. I swear the second gear grind came standard from the factory in these four speeds.

I will use it for this driving season, and then it becomes a winter project. Second gear is highly over-rated anyways. There is enough torque that I can just use 1st and 4th. I have to find me a competent and trustworthy guy to drop it and rebuild it.
