how to post pictures in photo gallery?

I have tried to resize my photos to upload them but it says they are still too large. I got them down to 199000 and I know they should be 104K. I'm saving them as JPEG. What am I doing wrong? Any hints?

Good luck. I tried some that uploaded but they were vertically compressed like a steamroller had run over the car before the photo was taken. It was hard to tell what the car was in the board's version. I have attached those photos to posts and they worked there but not in the gallery.

Even though it says *.jpg can be ~95Kb, I had to compress mine to ~20Kb before they would "take". That is the limit stated for *.jpeg, which I thought is the same thing. I have no such problems on www.forabodiesonly.com, which is run by the same admin.
