I have seen HP manifolds for late 60's 440's did they offer any HP's for the 65 sport fury with a 383? It has the log style on it now. What casting no's will fit? Anyone put them on a 65? Does anyone repop new ones or do I have to find good used ones? Thanks for the help
 
I would use the 68-69 HP manifolds, they can be found here periodically, and They will fit. Back then logs with dual pipes was the rule. Until 67' with the 67' 440HP GTX/R/T.
 
Unless you just want to look cool with the HP manifolds save your money. I've run the logs and HP manifolds back to back on the dyno. With the HP's I gained 3 horsepower.
 
Not too mention, changing plugs in those HP manifolds is a bear! I'd suggest if you want better flow go with some headers, although those for a C body are expensive!
 
I have seen the 68-up HP manifolds on plenty of C bodies (Carlisle, etc.) and they fit with no major problems. I have never been a fan of the log manifolds. When I went from the log manifolds to a set of tube headers (65 Sport Fury), the running temp of my engine dropped by 30 degrees. The log manifolds weren't engineered for flow, just to do the job of collecting exhaust gasses and sending them towards the muffler.
There is a reason the factory went to the HP manifolds on the Road Runners, Chargers, etc.
If I didn't have headers, I would be running the HP manifolds on my Fury.
 
Did they ever have pre-heater shrouds on the HP manifolds like the logs? Or were those log-only?

Yes, they did. If you look closely at this picture of this '70 Charger with 440 Magnum, you can see the shroud on the driver's side manifold. IMG_2067.jpg

The heater tube started in 70'. The 67-69 C body HP manifold driver side is different than the b body style, although the passenger side is the same as the B body. It fits the car better, as it was made for the C body. If the engine was a higher output engine, the manifolds do help.
