Thanks, David. I'll hafta check the FSM to see why vacuum is needed in the air cleaner. Maybe its associated with a flap in one of the snorkles to control air temperature during warmup.

That's exactly what they are for.

That is what it does. That vac hose goes to the check valve under the air cleaner.
