It has begun- Project Delmae

Busy busy day. Yesterday while in the middle of doing a Posi-Lok cable actuator conversion on my W250, we took a few minutes to undo the upper A arms and get the shocks in place. My uncle likes to move at a fast pace, so while I was out getting liquid electrical tape to finish the conversion, he rolled the frame over to the car, and by 3 pm we Delmae back on four wheels. Next step is now to find sheetmetal and get the body done.

With Delmae’s front end put back together, I’m currently at a project hold until I can find donor parts for the body. But being at Carlisle, I decided to look for a few more miscellaneous parts for the 383. I have a 6125S Carter AVS (1971 383 HP auto) that I bought a few years back there and rebuilt myself, but decided I should go with the 4968S Carter AVS (1971 440 HP auto) instead. And even with the engine completely torn apart and awaiting for my 360 to be sent in and redone, I decided it needed an Air Grabber air cleaner

I guess 15 months is a suitable amount of time to go between updates, mainly since I haven’t done anything to Delmae since June 2021. Finally putting grease in the front end, but it’s depressing seeing my brand new front end parts all rusty. Oh well, hopefully 2023 I can get some sheetmetal found for it. But for now, I’m working on a Shelby Dakota.
