sounds like a wiring nightmare. i take it there is a transmission adapter. good luck with your projects.

Not at all...this is all well proven and done quite often in the Toyota and Jeep world.The wiring and sensors from the VW run the engine.Dak ECU runs the gauges.You have to have a tone ring fabbed for Dodge crank signal.Will switch to Volvo/Ford electric steering pump and use VW vacuum pump.Not sure if I have to switch to 47RH Cummins valve body since the truck currently runs around 2000 rpm at cruise and shifts around there...we'll see.

What about how the resultant vehicle be "defined" under the state emissions tests and such?

You will probably also need a "looser" torque converter to make the Diesel happy.
