Jay Leno test drive '61 Dodge CHP

I spoke with the AAA Archivist Morgan Yates a year ago before they had painted the car, we spoke for a couple hours about this project, mine and AAA archives, great guy.

A friend of mine owns the other 61 that was mentioned, he helped with information as well.

The 61 was the first year for the white roof.

Looking forward to seeing this car in person.

I just watched it....27 minutes of smiles on my face....how many times did he kick in the four barrell? sounds great

Interesting... Jay had nothing but praise for this car but wasn't nearly as kind to the CHP '69 Polara.

Agreed, I was there for the 69 shoot and at the time the car was not tuned up properly, it'll put you in the seat now.

No, mine isn't finished yet, that one belongs to a good friend of mine.

That's a shame. Never a second chance for a first impression. I hated hearing him dog the car... Then I watch this and I'm like "huh?" The '69 should have outperformed the '61 in every way (Well, except maybe for the super awesome '61 speedometer)

Was it your car I saw at the Spring Fling? I enjoyed seeing one up close and personal, with being under arrest. By the time I was old enough for that, they were all Caprices. :p

No, mine is still not done. The car you saw at Spring Fling is the same car in the Jay Leno show.
