just some pics you might enjoy

Could have been a black and white photo. Not a car with any color in the whole scene!

2500 and 3500, but that Mexican plant existed long before NAFTA and it's mostly because the Warren plant is to old and small for modern era duallys. That will soon change as a new Ram plant in MI comes online soon.

Has nothing to do with NAFTA, made in Mexico is made in Mexico.

The point was that the plant wasn't built to game NAFTA. At one time Mexican sales required Mexican production (Canada used to do that as well). All the D3 have had Mexican production since the late 20's and earlier. Since the advent of NAFTA (and auto pact in CA) those existing factories have become sole-sources of a particular model vs. building some of everything... simply because that is far more efficient.

Given that Mexico buys only about 10% fewer US brands than the US, (35% vs. 45% driven largely by their higher costs and low wages) it's only fair they see some taste of production benefits. (Canada buys roughly equal to the US with far less production, so hurray Canada.)

Now if you want to talk about businesses that have only recently moved to Mexico and sell few products there, (like Carrier) I'm 100% on board the complain-train.

That car is disgusting.

I don't hate it in person as much as I would on paper. I would have made the rear window bigger, the small window adds to the home made look. Would like to hit some potholes with it and then decide.

I'd love to see the numbers that state Canada produces FAR less then we purchase....considering multiple top selling vehicles of multiple brands are Canadian built.

I think you're reading it incorrectly.

CA does not produce as many cars/trucks as the US, (2.3m vs. 12 m) but it purchases US-make cars at roughly the same percentage as Americans (45%)

I'm not referring to its appearance. That's bad in itself.
I'm thinking about what kind of demented mind wanted that. Eww.. keep him/her/them away from me.

Convertible pickins are pretty slim in 2017. Perhaps this is more your style?

What’s with the rear top window/sunroof in the convertible? Isn’t a sunroof in a convertible an oxymoron? I don’t like the car but that feature is interesting.

I see a:

Ram 1500 (Warren, MI)
Chrysler 200 (Sterling Heights, MI)
Buick Enclave (Delta Township, MI)
Chevy Impala (Oshawa ON, CA)
Dodge Caravan (Windsor ON, CA)
Ford Escape (Louisville, KY)

One could try and say Canada doesn't count, but the Feds consider CA-vehicles as US because of the auto pact agreement of 1965 that removed all trade barriers. Most all of the high dollar value engineering work was performed in a 40 mile radius.

Is the one driving the "Chrysler 200"? Whatever it is, it looks a Canadian 2003-4 Sebring. I'm not sure where they were made but alot were equipped with mitsu engines.

That's why I like it. Let alone four door convertibles. The math doesn't add up though, 60,000?$ car + 20,000?$ unnecessary work = practically unsellable vehicle. Better than the fake bow landau though!

Keep in mind it was in front of a marina dealership. I'm sure there are even bigger ways to burn $$$ within!
