It's 9:30 PDT here and I need to decide by 16:30 if I want to pay a $70 core charge to keep my original brake booster. My shop is installing the Cardone rebuild for me but i wonder if maybe I should keep the original and get it rebuilt for futures...

I would keep it and have it rebuilt. You'll have a spare, anyway, plus you can sell it, if you see the need to.

With my recent Cardone experience, I'd ditch the Cardone and pay for the original to be rebuilt.

What happened to it? It surprises me really because there aren't many moving parts in these things.

No, it wasn't a booster, it's just Cardone in general I'm not an fan of. My issue was a rebuilt axle for my son's '87 Honda that they couldn't get right. After the fact, I read some reviews and apparently it's hit or miss with the workmanship. My own jaded opinion, that's all.

Thanks for the replies. I think will keep it. I'll let you guys know if I have any issues with the Cardone rebuilt one.

I had my original rebuilt because the replacements didn't look correct, not even close. There are different types and styles used on the cars, my CHP 440 disc brake car is different than my 318 drum brake car, maybe the replacement 318 one would look correct but the 440 one didn't.

I know what you mean. When I picked up the New Yorker today I was happy to see it looked correct except for the paint Cardone applied. I can fix that easily enough. Another upside is I can hit the brakes now and I actually stop :-)

I just sent 2 boosters back to Cardone because they couldn't send me the correct booster. The one in the picture was right, the ones they sent were wrong, and their tech line is pretty much useless. :yes_no: :BangHead:
