WANTED Leaf Sping Shackles 1972 Fury

[MN72Fury]

I have 1972 fury with new firm feel leaf springs, the old shop discarded the old shackles and the firm feel ones are not correct. I need one side to have a step or bend

I found some on ebay where both sides are stepped/ bent - does anyone know is the distance between the bolts the same on the stepped ones and the straight version offered by MOOG, firm feel ext.

DOES ANYONE HAVE A SET OF SHACKLES, note the bend on the inner shackle

Very good picture shows the bends

The shop just emailed that they found the above - I think they are right

I wouldn't price those out until they are off the spring. You may lose both breaking them loose

You can disagree all you want. Sometimes they break sometimes they don't. Regardless of what you spray them with or soak them In.

The last one I needed I reached out to Murray, he broke a dozen before getting me two good ones. Even on non rusty cars he couldn't believe how easily they snapped.

There's a reason they are in slim supply and high demand.

Sorry, but that's just another place with an incorrect application list.

Far too many of these places list a "straight" shackle as fitting the '70 and up fuselages.

I still think that if the shorter side could be repaired using the bolt from a new set of "straight" shackles. I haven't really looked at this just yet, but I think it can be done. I also think the long side can be repaired, but that's going to involve more work and $$.
