Hi everyone, thank you for letting me join.

I have just bought a 1973 imperial lebaron 2 door hardtop. I haven't got it yet as I live in the UK and the car is being shipped over. I think this will take a couple of months at least.

I have some resto work to do, mainly paint and new top.

Congratulations on the new ride, JD! It will look good in the beautiful Cornwall countryside. Would you have bought a Plymouth if you lived in Devon? Sorry for the bad joke. ;-)

If you ever feel you should meet some like-minded people and could add a vacation as a bonus, come to the world's largest Fuselage C-Body show in the Moselle valley, Germany. It is equally beautiful as Cornwall, but offers more Fuselage C-Bodies - at least once a year. :-)

To get an idea what I am talking about, check out our website: www.bbtr.de

I used to live in Plymouth! I only live 12 miles away from Plymouth now.

Wow, I just checked out your website.. I came across your video a couple of weeks ago. What a collection of Fuselage C-bodys.

When I get my Imperial looking smart again, It would be great to come along.

Funny, that you really used to live in Plymouth. :)

Regarding BBTR: We had a feller last year coming over from the UK in his 1971 Sport Fury and this year we had two other Fuselage C-Body fans, also from England, but travelling in an A-Body. Both now keep a lookout for a 1969-1973 C-Body... Both parties really liked the show. One even said that it was the best car event he ever been to.

Try some cleaning strength vinegar and a mild scotchbrite pad on the rust oxidized paint. Try it in a lower area first. I would also try a wash with Comet scrubbing powder, it may get the rust colour out of the paint and then you can do a full polish. If you really want to try something, a mild mix of phosphoric acid will get rid of the staining. It will give the car a fresher cleaner look until you take to the finish you desire.

Thanks. I will give it a try.

Nice score. Please provide regular updates on your progress.
Will do. Started by tackling the rear window stuck down. The Dealer put the window down just before it went to the shipping people. It's been travelling 3,000 mile with an open window, :-( ,
Battery was dead, had to get a farmer neighbour to tow it to the house.

Next problem is the ignition lock is not working properly. It will only keeps running if you hold the key in the starting position?

Love to hear all updates. This one will be worth the effort. I wonder how many of these two doors are actually still restorable anywhere on the planet.
