Preface: I was not around during the heyday of the American automobile.

After reading magazines and scanning this forum, I have noticed a trend with Canada and Mopar. It seems like Mopar cars have a much larger presence in Canada than Ford or Chevy. Did they market towards Canada more than the other two or am I just reading one side of the story? Interested to find the bridge between these two.

Chrysler has a larger market share in Canada versus the States comparatively and has had for some time. As recently as 2014 FCA was the number one Automotive Brand in Canada. Historically though they were the third largest Brand with GM being first. Lately that honour has gone to Ford.

Combined sales of the “Big 3” however are still less than the Import Brands which is unfortunate in my mind.

I definitely come across distributors that are Canada only, and Mopar parts in Autopar boxes that are the same parts but different part numbers.
