Im headed out to the MOPAR Mania event at Piedmont Dragway in a couple of hours. Just east of Greensboro , NC about 10 miles off of I40. Hope to see you there. I don't have a car ready to race or show. And I don't want to enter the PT Criuser in anything. I might fill it full of parts if I see something I need. Look me up if anyone is going. I'll be the tall good looking guy with the MOPAR hat on. Likely hanging around or near the starting line or the swap meet section

What a great show. My cell phone has been acting up all week & it died Saturday morning. So I couldn't get any pics. Too bad was a lot of cool cars there. Something Ive noticed. There was I'd say 100 show cars there & maybe 60-70 where late model Gen III Hemi cars. Most of them modified. That's two car shows in the last month I've seen that. Younger guys too. I was talking to a couple of guys & they said they've noticed it at other shows they have been to. And they are having a late Hemi drag race class now. 8 cars where in this one. The show I went to 2 weeks ago had about 30. Several Hellcats at both. These new Hemi's are FAST many running deep into the 10's. Funny thing. I'm getting famous. I was talking with a couple of swap meet vendors & we got talking about C body parts. And one of them said. There's a guy over in Raleigh that sells a lot of C body parts. I said are you talking about C body Bob. And. One of them said yea that's him. C body Bob. I said yea I hear that guy has a lot & is a pretty cool dude. Both agreed. Now that my head is big I'm thinking about running for Governor.....

I'd stay away from the politics unless you want to lower the class of people you're forced to deal with... I am glad to hear you've gained some notoriety.

The first thing I'd do is outlaw scrapping of American cars & any cars built before 1975. And Demo guys could only use Mini Vans. And NASCAR wouldn't be allowed to race anywhere in the state unless they used stock bodies.

I could mail you an absentee ballot. Pre addressed of course. I'll do something about the taxes. I promise. I'll have to meet with the lobbiest first & make sure I get rich as a public servant then I will fix the taxes. Vote for me

El Presidente in the making...

I lived in Winston-Salem from 1993 until 2001 and was a member of the Piedmont Mopar Club the entire time. Back in those days I had a Lemon Twist Superbird, all original, with the 440 4bbl and 727 on the console. We used to meet at Ron Osborne's place just south of Greensboro in Pleasant Garden. Do you know any of the guys from that club? Smith Stokes was a member, as was Herb McCandless. I was working for Pepsi in those days and I was transferred back to California in early 2001 so I have been gone a long time now, but it was a great club and I still miss those guys.

The Piedmont MOPAR club has been around a long time. Dedicate bunch. Yes over the years I've known a few of them. They come & go. I have been noticing in recent years the late model cars are slowly increasing in numbers at the show. Not so much the drag race. This show 50% where late model gen 3 Hemi cars. And quite a few in the staging lanes in the drag race too. An awefull lot of enclosed trailers. I remember 25 years ago they had to have a class for all the FWD Daytona & Chargers. Then a class for all the Dakota R/T's. Then about 20 Rumble Bees would show up. Don't see hardly of those now. It's 3 gen Hemi cars. This time however there are more & more as they keep making them faster.
