At one time I was determined to have a "Goldie", and as a IH parts manager, had collected many of the hardest to find N.O.S. parts to build one. Time marched on, and I ran across a fellow that really needed some of what I had to finish his truck. He wasn't a wealthy guy, and I made him a screaming deal on the stuff. IIRC I gave him two headlamp doors, two taillamps, the tailgate T-handle, and something else, all mint N.O.S. for $300.00. I still have a few N.O.S. things floating around here, like the front panel ornament bar w/ gold IH, door hinges, parking light lenses, pedal pads, gas pedal, and a fair amount of engine, driveline, and brake parts. Over the years, I have purchased the left over parts inventories of three out of business IH truck dealers. Most of the stuff that doesn't fit what I collect, which are Scout ll's and '69-'75 light-line trucks, is piled up in boxes, totes, and corners, spread out at every property I own. Hence, I seldom can find anything, when someone wants it. Currently the time I spend looking for things negates any profit, so at this time I rarely try to sell anything. I hope to "mine" this gold in my retirement. And by the way, I haven't gotten around to mentioning the Imperial to my wife yet, so I better go get those locking hub parts off her kitchen table!
