Looks to me like a good hard push on the deck lid back by the hinges will move it over to even out the gaps. Sometimes the hinges just lean over a bit.

I tried everything to shift over that trunk... including using a 2X3. I still can't get it to align properly. The 2X3 actually broke after trying several times to no avail. The only thing I can think of is to totally remove the trunk lid (with help from another person) then try to bend each bare hinge over like 1/4".
