My Hurst project

Working on the dash today . Took it right down to the frame and blasted it . I ordered saddle paint from Classic Industries , but it doesn't match ( Lighter ) . Is the dash actually dark saddle or tan ?
Anyway , I'll keep plugging away .

Got a few small things done on the 300 lately . Progress is slow , but I'm plugging away as I have time .
The dash is just about done . I have to test a couple of things and get a new speaker , but turned out well . I'm very happy with the paint I had mixed .
The steering column is ready to go back in and worked on the bracket for the brake pedal today . I have a line on a Dutchman panel and hope I can get my hands on it . The guy said he would cut it out of a car he had , just waiting to hear back from him on being available next weekend .

Scored a really nice Dutchman panel for the 300 today . I had to make a 550 Mile round trip to Ohio and drop it off to the body man on the way home . Will make the finished car that much nicer though .

Thanks Wyatt . Guy had it cut out for me last night and got a couple of power seat switches while I was there . I should have brought more cash , doors and roof were spotless .

Spencerville , Ohio . I stumbled on it from FB marketplace . I punched in 1970 Chrysler in the search and the car popped up .

Hi everyone , hope you've all been doing well .
Making a little progress on the 300 . The body man was really happy with the replacement Dutchman panel . I got a couple of damaged power seat switches for parts from the guy with the panel and rebuilt my other switch .
Both seat bases are working perfectly now .
I'll post more as it happens .

Hi everyone, not much new going on with the Chrysler lately , life has been happening . Lol .
I have been working on the grill assembly today . Headlights and motor all test good .
I already don't like taping , but working on getting the grill ready for the school bus yellow . You're right @Trace 300 Hurst , taping this is a pain and I'm not even half way done .

You're looking good so far. As I've mentioned before....it took me 23 hours to perfectly mask the grill for School Bus Yellow.

My guess is that a 1960s-era Hurst pinstripe artist perfectly covered the 300's existing red paint with his yellow brush in about five minutes, zero masking needed. Maybe six minutes including puffing a cigarette.

[Note: the red paint, including big "runs" on the back side of the grille parts is easily seen on every Hurst I've inspected.]

Hi everyone , it's been awhile since I had anything new , but I'm still plugging away on the 300 . The body man sent me a few pics today .
The left quarter is getting close , the fenders and doors are ready to be blocked out . Everything has been steel patched and I put the dogleg pieces from @SGT FURY to use.
More bad areas found as you can see on the drivers side of the cowl . No wonder the emergency brake assembly was in bad shape too . I do have a nice replacement . She's going to get a good coat of grease internally before reassembly . We are planning on getting the firewall done and painted in the next week or so . Then the new subframe will go in as well as dropping the motor and trans back in before bolting the front clip back on .
I'll get more posted as it happens .

Firewall is seam sealed and starting to block the one side so far . Needs a little more work along the body line , but going well so far .

Body man wants to get the subframe and motor in , said he was painting the firewall and jambs . He seems to think it will be easier putting it in all at once so I dropped the motor and trans into the subframe .
The plan is to put the car back together so I can get it running again and we will be ready for paint .
I'll let you all know how it goes .
