I've had my car for about a month now. First order of business was to get the brakes fully operational. When I drove the car home that first night, I had to take it easy since it didn't feel like the right side brake was working at all (read 'severe pull to left').

Well, things are looking up. One down, three to go.

I just decided to buy all new parts rather than take a chance on having something like a pitted wheel cylinder slow me down (or not slow me down, as the case may be).

One thing I've noticed is that I don't fit into the wheel well as easily as I did 25 years ago, which is about how long its been since the last time I did a drum brake service.

I've also been looking for new tires for the car. Not much to choose from in a 14" wheel size these days...

GREAT way to start off. Attaboy.

Wait until you have to crawl up under the dash.

Sounds like the voice of experience... I would have considered your sage advice, but alas, I already did the dastardly dash thing while waiting for the brake parts to arrive. What a pain (literally). I tweaked something in my shoulder one night without knowing it, then had to go home early from work the next afternoon. All part of the fun though. At least I'm not working on an A-body like my brother ('66 Formula S).
