so, I finally found and purchased a 1971 fury grand coupe, still going over it and figuring out what it needs. I plan on keeping it as a driver. I'm not trying to make it perfect. The car is really solid, one bad spot on rt rear quarter, .I am wondering if I need 2 of these springs for the headlights , I only have 1

Very nice fury. If its like my 68 300, there is a spring on both doors. Hope you have good luck with your first purchase. Welcome from east texas and post pics! Love see, hear more about it!

Awesome car!! Love those color's!
@jj77 What type of vinyl roof is that? What code?

Yes, you need 2 of those springs, they keep the drive-rod from popping out.
In all likelihood, the rod is a bit stuck in there at this point.
In a pinch, you could use a hoseclamp or nylon ziptie whilst you search for the correct part.
A similar type of part is used to hold the plunger rod to the drain-closer on your bathroom sink, too.
