Did you compare other types of insulation cost vs spray foam. I know its more but how much more. Also, did you spray it directly onto the back of the metal roof?
Yes it wasn't cheapest but the only way to insulate straight to the metal roof to prevent condensation, plus it was the best option for the block walls. I framed my wall an inch away from the block so my framing is completely encapsulated from the block and condensation.
I achieved what I was after. The other side of the garage is not insulate at all and the concrete floor sweats along with the metal roof.
The only thing I don't care for it the smell. It still lingers from last falls installation. I don't notice much after awhile, but I figure it can't be good for you.
As far as cost I have no comparison because this was the only route I decided to go. To give you an idea of cost. This is 22x22 garage the walls are 12+feet and it was $2,200.
I looked at a do it yourself spray insulation and the materials were twice as their installed price. He wore a complete spray suit with piped in fresh air. Definitely not a DIY job, especially working overhead.
