New window motor goes bad after just a few uses???

Is this a common thing, or did I just get the one piece of garbage from the parts store? The new driver's door window motor worked great on the bench, worked great in the door while I got the glass adjusted and tracks lubed, then the first time I took the car out with my wife to show off the car to her, the brand new motor craps out. I took it back out and it won't do a thing, even without a load on it. Is there something I can do to the motor other than return it and wait for a new one to get shipped? Boo.

Getting to be the typical "rebuilt" part.

I went through 3 on a Caddy once... including one that caught fire after a week.

Pretty sure you're screwed when the electric part of the motor craps out.

Just took one to be rebuilt. Only works in one direction. I will let you knows how it comes out.
