I often wondered why shipping costs have escalated so much recently. I've had this happen a couple times recently with FedEx, but this gem is courtesy of USPS this time.

Carson, CA is 379 miles from Phoenix. 4 days later, this package is still somehow en route.
    :wtf:

Still pretty quick compared to a decade ago.

    Was it free shipping?

It was via Amazon Prime, which is a little perplexing as it's usually pretty quick.

Be happy that you don’t live in Canada
The shipping fees are insane especially shipping state side

Then you can't really complain. I'm sure the other 99% of your purchases arrived within 2 days

Not true. a) It's not free. Prime is over $100 for the year now. b) I've had many purchases not arrive within 2 days. I think this happens when either Amazon itself isn't stocking the product or it's something they get directly from the manufacturer.

Additionally, a 50 cent stamped letter makes it from Phoenix to LA in 1 day. So I really have no idea why this has taken 4 days, hence my "complaint." It doesn't really add up.

Check to make sure it ain't the UPS/USPS cheap ship combo. The one time I used that it took over 2 weeks.
Got tired of waiting, order used computer part on eBay, received it before manufacturers part, bitched, they sent me pre-payed return envelope and refunded all.

I've followed a UPS eBay track from the west coast that took a left turn in Jacksonville, called and they got it turned around in South Carolina to set it on the right course to me. sheet happens.

That definitely might be a possibility. It always takes a long time when that's used.

Last Christmas(December 29th) I bought a back up cam for the truck
    It arrived the same day
An elderly couple delivered it at about 9pm in their personal car!

10 bucks for same day shipping is the best, way cheaper than first over night..

I ordered something with free shipping, that package took a tour of the lower 48 before it got to me

I'm fat thanks to that product, and all 27 flavors they have made over the years. I still miss the barbeque and sour cream & ranch flavors. An open bag of that is not safe with me in the house, the self control I must exert. Laura got a bag two weeks ago, I pretend it's broccoli, I won't eat that.

Shipping! Yeah Fed ex takes the Cake for sucking the most. I've had great experience with the USPS, but some weird unexplained delays. UPS seems to fall in between. I usually ship through the post office and save the buyer money, I don't/won't make a dime if shipping, and it gets there that quickest. FedEx boxes arrive in the best condition, they definitely seem to take better care of a package

As for Amazon, I usually get it right away, unless they specify that the product is coming from a third party, otherwise no complaints. I forgot to cancel the prime membership the last two years, but we use it enough to justify keeping it. Just sucks when $100 leaves my account without expecting it to disappear! Another thing, this year we are going to try to take as much advantage of the prime services, as we've only been getting the shipping part, which is still worth it.

I'm the purchase agent at work so I see how everything is shipped and when it arrives. I think they are all a roll of the dice. USPS tracking really frustrates me though for never being up to date.

If UPS had anything to do with it they are probably having trouble scanning the bar code after they ran over it with a forklift.

Ain't that funny. Because when I buy parts from ebay or Rockauto or somewhere else, the logistic chain from another continent to my homeland works like a swiss clock. No matter is it USPS, FedEx or DHL. But the troubles you described, can start here.

In my vast years of gleaning info off the web it is well known especially during the holiday season that the temps that UPS hires during the shipping rush field goal anything that is kick-able into the back of the trucks!
Trouble is many times they hit the wrong goal in the lineup of trucks!

My wife sent presents to our nieces in Colorado on December 20th. They got them today. Thanks, UPS.

Yall should apply for a job there, to see how it's really done and you can see why you need to get it with the shipping insurance

I've talked to enough folks who did that job... no way you want to send stuff that isn't well protected and insured for replacement.
