Not everybody's cup of tea...but glorious nonetheless...

The performance of these types of cars is undeniable, but the styling has just never clicked for me. Plus I highly doubt I could even get into one at 6'8"....;)

True. Form follows function in this arena...

Clarkson is all of 6'5" and he has packed on some weight in the past few years to boot...so I reckon most blokes could drive it if the opportunity presented itself. :D

If someone tossed me a set of keys and said take it for a high speed run around a track....you bet your arse I would squeeze my butt into that thing. I'll try anything once....:p

More dream machines I'll never be able to afford, don't expect me to wipe up my drool........

Those McLaren's are something... a guy had one at a local exotic car show here last summer. Wasn't this model but it sure looked Purdy! Of course he took First...

No denying the performance capabilities, but there are only a few places to drive it as "a car" around here. FAR too many jacked-up (er, "lifted") pickup trucks. Unless they were high enough the McLaren (or similar) driver could look UNDER them. Might work better on the open west TX Interstates?

The only version of top gear i couldn't watch is the Australian version. I just couldn't really figure out newton meters of torque just gave up on it like the history channel gave up on American top gear...

Chaparral from the 60's You fired off these memories from the past. Sorry if off topic.

The only "Top Gear" I liked was the earlier UK versions, the original. The USA version just seemed lame by comparison. Like using some nice older cars to do an off-road competition in nice older cars ('76 Coupe DeVille, for example) on a mountain bike type course.

Clarkson's audio impression of an 8-speed Lexus on the race course was amusing. All of the gear changes and such. Some of their cross-nation races and such were amusing, but with a bit more drama than needed.

Can't forget "The Stig"!

Did you see when Hammond and May had a Renault Reliant built and launched like the space shuttle? Really funny and cool

Seems quite fitting to leave this here...

There always seemed to be some flaky pit-fall for Clarkson in many of their "road challenges". Like when he was in a fancy Japanese sports car racing "the train" (and other TG operatives) across Japan. The nav system in the sports car only spoke Japanese. MId-day traffic didn't help either!

They always seemed to make fun of their production trailer at the race track.
