NOT MY CAR! Just figured I'd post a tread on it. It's a 68 Sport Fury convertible. Located in Phoenix Arizona. Now running big block with A/C. He believes to be matching numbers, trans not sure. As of March 28, the price is $3,150. There is 4 days to go with 19 bids. According to the seller, it's the 3rd time the car is up on Ebay. The last 2 winning bidders did not pay. Here's the story according to the seller. "This car was part of a collector's estate left to his nephew. This car was purchased in 2006 as a running and driving complete car from Las Vegas Nevada. He drove it home to Mesa Arizona. He parked it under a steel open side barn where it sat until July 2017. The nephew had it moved to his shop parking lot in Phoenix where it has sat since. The 74,000 mile odometer reading could be correct, but I have no way of proving it. We know it starts and, runs, but it needs the fuel system cleaned out. It appears to have working brakes and transmission, but it will need a full service and recommissioning." *SEE FULL AD/STORY ON EBAY* I think it looks overall good and solid, sure, interior looks dusty and dirty. Compared to the Fast-top I put up. Looks a lot better. It could definitely be saved. I'd like to hear your comments, opinions, etc.

It sold last time for $4950 which is right near what the reserve was and probably still is. If anyone here is seriously interested it's about 20 minutes from me and I can go take a look.

68PK21 440.6bbl. Wow. Yes you're totally right. I hardly even read the posting. I just read the condition of the body. The inspection with the forklift sounds like a safety hazard and a lawsuit waiting to happen. Why even bother inspecting it then. Inspect it on your own when you see it without the forklift. The guy sounds like a, you know what as well. As you said, he's being somewhat honest.

The forklift on site is a real selling point, wonder what else has been damaged by repeated "inspections"?

I was watching this car closely the 3 or so times it was on ebay. (probably just to torture myself)
It's exactly my kind of car - do some awakening/refreshing, some polishing, and enjoy as-is for not-ridiculous money.

• There is more rust around the rear wheels than what he describes. I don't know if he's naiive on rust, but they would easily push thru with a pencil. Still not bad, though.
• The interior would probably clean up well, but stitching is pulling loose at the shoulder on the front seat, and that's possibly a hint for the future. Within a few short years the seats are popping apart everywhere?
• Doorpanel is boogered but can probably be 80% fixed with some patience and contact cement.
• It needs a new top - the one on it would work short-term for emergency use, but you'd need to figure out the rear window ASAP.
• It's just a G-code, an H would be nicer. Has a rare dual-snorkel on it, a bonus, except the snorkel tips are boogered.

The block of wood is holding up the rear window, which was noted to be detached from the top.
Maybe he'll thro in that 'junk' mag wheel, and maybe he has 3 more. THAT would be a nice bonus!

OTOH -
It's a SF 'vert, mostly rust-free, decent interior in black, 383, has AC (rare for a 'vert) and the trim and bumpers are in decent shape. Not a bad car to start with. Depending on how the paint polishes up, I think you'd get every penny back at resale time if you were prudent how you spent money on it.

I've seen several other 'verts of the 68/69/70 Fury nature in more of a deteriorated state than this car, some I think have been posted here before, some not, but all were priced way lower than what some think for these rare (not) cars.

There are still some deals/bargains to be had is what I'm saying.

Yes, but depending on what those more deteriorated states are, the lower price may not be a bargain.
I think this one in the 4-5k range it sold at previously was a good deal.
Not a steal, but a smart buy.

This car has sold at least three times for around $4500 and none of the buyers have followed through. Makes me think it's unlikely this buyer at $6700 will consummate the deal either.

One would wonder if 3 previous buyers backed out, what did they see on closer inspection? Seller has made no effort to clean up or otherwise prep this car for sale and it shows considerable rust for a desert car. It has been sitting since 2006 which would suggest a rodent infestation likely as well as the need for a complete brake system rebuild, fuel system ditto. Tires, belts, hoses, convertible top etc. Will take at least $3-$4k just to get it road worthy. Running and road worthy this is about a $7500 car. Math problem at even $4500.

They doesn't exist around here.
That would have a minimum $10k asking price here and probably wouldn't last long.

Here's one, clueless seller, 3 pics, no mention of engine size, has duals thou, but with the lack of effort by seller I pass it by.

@68PK21 440.6bbl. I wouldn't call him a clueless seller, I would call him a lazy seller. Who knows I could be wrong. Too bad there are only 3 photos like you said. It looks terrible with the black bumpers and such. Looks like it was done with a "beeping", (fill in the blank) spray can. I'm sure he did it because it is cheaper than having them re-chromed. This car looks a bit like @FURYGT's VIP from pics he showed me. This one is also closer to @GJS than me. Not that we need another project at our house. Technically because we have two already. Sorry, I'm out on this one.

I deliberately estimated this car on the low side, any seller that is using a fork lift for "inspections" has probably caused damage to the underside and suggests that the seller has little respect for the vehicle. 4 flat tires and no effort whatsoever to clean up the vehicle is also a turn off. Probably a money grubbing flipper. Agree that a vert like this could be worth something in the neighborhood of $10k with a new top, clean interior, minimal rust and in roadworthy condition. This one is no where close. It also has the added bonus of a burned out A/C compressor, judging by the rebuilt unit included with the for sale photos. System is probably full of metal, another expensive repair.
