Thank you for great story and presentation!
Thanks - I'm hoping it doesn't need to come out again in my lifetime!Lovely job! For whatever it's worth, here's a recommendation for refinishing your transmission case if you ever have it out of the car again. Looks like the shop that rebuilt your tranny just cleaned the grease off the case. I developed a really good technique for making the case look new again when I restored the A904 Torqueflite in my 1974 Duster. I took it to a blasting shop, where they sandblasted it, then bead blasted it to give it a softer finish. I then hit it with three coats of Krylon Clear Chalky Matte finish before reassembly. Looks like a brand new penny to this day. Anyhow, fantastic job with the Plymouth!

Yes! We (my grandparents, parents, two aunts and uncles, and myself) used to attend Holz on the 4th with a whole bunch for finned Mopars since we all usually had off that day with nothing specifically planned. We stopped doing that once they started charging per car to enter the show as it became expensive for that many cars and essentially turned into just another average mixed make show, usually on a hot day on asphalt with little to no shade.Beautiful car and the documentation is great. have we seen some of your cars @ Gus's drive-in or Holts 4th of July?
From my dad or a previous owner? My dad purchased it in 2005 and we believe he is the fourth owner of it. The original owner, based on paperwork, appears to have been a young guy and had his dad co-sign for it. The second owner had it from the '70s to the '90s and we met him at the Waukesha Wednesday cruise night where he recognized the car and ultimately sent us vintage photos of the car - small world! The third owner had it until 2005.I tried to buy the blue 71 RR a number of times.
Yes, that was definitely my dad and I. I recall having the RR at that show at least once and I seem to recall that he actually parked on the other side of the hill, near the swap vendors. He really enjoys that car as it runs so good and is a nice, #s matching semi-survivor. I actually learned to drive a stick shift on that car when I was about 16 or so.must have been you, CMC show perhaps 8-9 years ago when their show was at the high school, you were leaving I've also seen the fin cars @ Gus's, they are immaculate cars
I would like to get to that show and maybe this is the year that I do. Unfortunately, it often conflicts with the CMC Belvidere Mopar Happening and the car show for that event is also the same Sunday this year.perhaps get up this way. There is a show in Appleton (Piece Park) which drew over a 1000 cars last year and that's not uncommon.
