My question is, how can I repaint them and keep the Plymouth Division lettering chrome?
They are depressed. Are the letters raised or depressed. I can't tell from here.
They are depressed.
Thanks. I will try that. The Corvette Fanbois taught me this one...
Smear grease over the lettering so that it fills the depression.
Clean the surface of the area to be painted of any grease.
Paint.
Dry.
Wipe grease off.

Kinda sorta like bedliner paint?
I appreciate everyone's help. I spent this past weekend stripping the paint off the bumpers. The previous owner painted over both bumpers. But I will get on the wheel covers this week hopefully. But since I finished rewiring the whole car, I will probably get the AC restored and working first.
I will post pictures of the finished wheel covers when I get them finished.
Thanks again for everyone's help.
That's just one of the things that the previous owner had dine to this car. The wiring was rigged in an unsafe manner, he replaced the steering wheel with an after market steering wheel that was not installed correctly and it was loose. He had a toggle switch for the backup lights. The list goes on, but I have gotten it all straightened out finally. Besides the AC I only have cosmetic work left to do.The bumpers look great with the paint stripped off. Make one wonder why they were painted.
Thank you for the advice. I will let you know how it goes.Lots of sources for vinyl letters on line. Identify the font and font size, peel - stick - paint - peel, done.

I have also used this with great success, last much longer than VHT or Rustoleum without fading.
