Parts parts parts. . . .

And it shouldn't take more than a couple of days to sort, look up the applications, and inventory all of that...

I am having a very hard time seeing there being enough profit left to make it worthwhile. That's at least 4 53' trailers, and it doesn't look "ready to ship" to me unless you want massive damage to occur. I would be willing to bet there isn't enough good moving inventory here to cover the buy in, I think we are just looking at an overly optimistic "retirement plan".

I do believe there are a lot of folk who sat on parts (because of unrealistic prices) past the peak of the market. Now they have huge stashes awaiting cars that won't be restored, at least within their lifetimes.

I agree on this but man I would like to rummage through that collection.

Here's Marty's chance to go nuclear...

Or more likely Vintage Auto Parts steps in and takes the lot for $0.25 on the dollar

25¢ the dollar is probably a starting point. 10¢ might be more realistic for its true value.

I could think of a lot better ways to make money with $750K.

Without an inventory, it would be an impossible task. 90% of the stuff you'd be going WTF is this? The other 10% you'd spend an hour researching each part.
The seller's memory isn't included in the price.

I really wonder where this stash of parts came from in the first place. The only big NOS Mopar parts dealer I can think of in that area was Frank Mitchell.

Left over inventory that wasn't included in the sale or move to Georgia? Settling Frank's estate?

These parts are located a couple of miles east of Dayton . . . I believe he was trying to sell them on-line for a while under the name "nospartspros.com", but I haven't seen anything advertised out there lately. I would check in from time-to-time, but seemed like the inventory list never got updated. I actually spoke w/ the gentleman at MoPar Nats 2 years ago, and rummaged thru his tables. Some of you might remember, he had a big display down on the end, by the Car Corral. Seems like there was some good stuff in there . . . I am also disappointed that I was never able to go on a scavenger hunt for some "goodies". Trying to remember . . . think he had a lot of early NOS sheetmetal - front fenders and such, from the 40s-50s. Think he had some c-body tail lights too . . . I remember seeing a set of 71 Monaco clusters.

From the web site...

On second thought... I decided to let you go look at his inventory pics yourself...

Three sets of points, 8 spark plugs, 1 fuel gauge, 1 "rat rod" 6v relay, 1 Delco t-stat, 1 set Studebaker sway links, 1 set Studebaker rear shock links... entire online inventory... =3/4M

Looks like he incorporated in 7-2015... if he had anything really good he sold it and doesn't understand why the rest won't move... The difference of a year in pictures tells me he has given up and wants to settle his real estate debt in the process.

I kinda hope this guy isn't one of those fools who has invested his life savings into a turd business because he thought it would be a "cool way to spend his remain years". I have seen that foolishness... nothing about cars is a good business for the half baked to get invested in. If you have enough scumbag in you the GMG or Lakeland markets are profitable... but you have to be willing to rape, pillage and steal from your own mom to do it...

He has no memory... and he didn't talk about a parts manual library either...

how many 51 plymouth fender spears does one person need? i'm sure all of the "good" stuff was sold at the peak of the muscle car bubble. what's left probably is costing more in storage than it is worth.

He hasn't a clue of what he has.
Look at all the pallets still in shrink wrap from when they were delivered.

Saw a pallet of NOS bumper jacks...

The stuff Frank had in Columbus was destroyed in a fire, and was far more parts than this guy has.

And without an inventory, or even the ability to look at the parts because they are boxed up and stretch-wrapped, you are buying a pig in a poke.

If you look at his 3 picture slide show on his homepage... the boxes were new and neatly stacked a year ago. This may be from hauling them around to swap meets...
