I recall this question in her before, but I can't find the thread. I'm replacing the cam and lifters in my '62 300. With the new lifters should I replace the old style tapered pushrods too? ( cam kit is mopar performance, specs similar to the purpleshaft ). Will the new style pushrods work with the '62 rockers? Head part # is 2206324. Many thanks for the help.
 
I believe that was me asking about my 67...I was told the new cams and lifters are designed around the later nontapered push rods....so you would need to change them as well.....unless I am mistaken its the bottom that's tapered and not the top....but measure the pushed length to make sure you get the right size.

Yes, the lifter end is tapered, the the rocker end is the "ball" end.
