In reality, the coyote is far faster than a roadrunner. A coyote can hit speeds of 24-28 mph, where the roadrunner can only hit about 8-10 mph. The only reason RR survived in the cartoons was because he was smarter, and the coyote was hopelessly inept. He did keep the Acme Company in business, though!

Got a pair of roadrunners that frequent my front yard through the Summer!

You've got Roadrunners and sun. My neighbor John has been feeding the local deer in his backyard this winter. We live in town just off a very busy street.
Sorry for the crappy pictures I was trying not to spook them.

And fyi: these were taken on May 1st, got to love spring in MN.
