And guess what? It's an Impala!! Have to admit I knew the guy that had it isn't a car guy but I didn't realize just how little he knew. Although it does turn out he knew it was an Impala but our conversation was just convoluted enough that we didn't quite follow each other clearly. On the other hand it turns out to be one of the two Chevy's I would want to own. No, it's not a 58 Impala, my favorite - but it is at number 2, a 61 bubbletop. Apparently Dad passed and left it to the brothers who tore it down to fix it up and now it lingers in pieces - who's heard this story before? Looks pretty complete and very restorable and I'm having a hard time not buying it, but I really do not need another project. No good pics due to the location but I do have a few.
And to top it all off, the price seems downright reasonable to me, certainly not cheap but not outrageous. Rust seems very minor for the age, almost trivial, mileage appears to have been at 85k, engine is supposed to be not stuck although currently buried - he's so much a car guy he couldn't even say if it was a 6 or 8 cylinder.........
