Some photos of vehicles that showed up on other web sites this morning......................................

Tim is getting some visibility for his excellent restoration sitting next to a really well restored Hurst it appears. I hope Tim can share some more photos of his New Yorker
from the event!

This is a 3 year restoration by Mike McCandless and his dad (the latter shown in photo - his dad, Herb, is a legend in the NHRA racing world). It is the first production Chrysler 300, a model line that started in 1955 and this car was raced at Daytona Beach, Fla.

The Sport Fury GT in the background looks like one owned by one of our members I believe. This is the Super Bird that got washed off of its storage rack during Hurricane Ian in Florida recently that will be re-restored.

The green GT in the background is the 1971 Sunroof GT owned by Mr. Arent who I had the pleasure of meeting this year at Carlisle, and I do believe he is a member of the forum here. I'm not sure of his username but I believe his avatar has a 1970 Chrysler convertible on it. I'm so happy that Superbird is going to get restored again, when I first saw it I didn't think it looked that bad but those pictures were not close up either.

@saforwardlook & @SportFury70 , MCACN was a spectacular show as it always is, with some of the nicest cars around. There were 46 wing cars this year. I even played a small part with the green & white Daytona unveil, as I helped another member on this board, @rhinopar with the final assembly on putting together the lift that the Daytona was on in the Mancini booth.
Here's a overveiw shot I took when I was standing on the raised lift, looking over the show floor on Friday while everybody was still setting up.
Met up with Manny and Wyatt and his dad Mike on Sunday, and checked out all the cars again.
Made several new connections, including the owner of the 300 Hurst, who has owned the car since 2006, and a local CBody owner too. I have never seen that car until this past weekend.
Dave with the sunroof GT had his Fury in the Magnum display, and he told me he'd try to make the show next June at Volo. There will also be another new C at the show next year, a 65 300L, and Jeff with his 73 Fury will be there too. Neither of these cars were at MCACN, but the owners have been part of the local Mopar clubs for a long time.
I must have 200 pics from this past weekend, I'll try to post more when I have some time.

Almost forgot, Lou Costabile found me at the show and did a quick tiktoc video of the NYer.
Next year he wants to meet up and do a video on the car. I told him we could hit some county roads around us at high speed as part of his video. He seemed to like the idea. Hope he doesn't scare easy.:steering::lol:
(Lou lives close by to me, just the next town over and we're both near the end of suburban sprawl with a bunch of empty country roads nearby)

Thanks for some more photos from that event Tim. That venue and the lighting show off your New Yorker better than any other photos I have seen of it yet - just a superb car in every respect. The paint color on your car is really great and is as classy as its name - "crystal dawn metallic"!

I also really like the winged cars and that green Daytona looks great - an out of the park restoration for sure. Seeing the gorgeous Dodge Magnum also makes me want to have one myself because those were the best cars Chrysler Corp produced in those years. Hey, if Chris @azblackhemi can get a late 70s Chrysler 300 and enjoy it, I should get myself one of those Magnums before I leave this planet!

That was clearly a great show! I am really glad you guys had a great time and I am looking forward to even more photos when you get a chance!

Lou did a very nice video on your 69 Imperial - it is great that he lives nearby you since you provide a good source of material for him. I like that Lou isn't one of those turn off guys doing such videos like so many out there are with their overly dramatic and weird behavior - just a regular nice guy it seems.

Awesome photos, thanks for sharing.

The Hurricane'd Superbird reminds me of this 1970 Fury III that made the rounds a while back....I seem to recall that the owner is/was a member here?

This one belongs to a friend of mine. He said there was some serious interest in doing some magazine features on the car. It's funny, no one would even take a second look at a '75 Roadrunner for many years.

The Road Runner and the Magnum were both super nice cars and well taken care of. The Midnight Charger had a really lumpy cam and it sounded wicked.
At most car shows I attend, typically you won't see this era Mopar, but when they do show up, unfortunately there's usually no "class" designated for them. When at the Mopar Show in Fox Lake, IL in 2021 with the 69 Imperial, and there was a 76 Daytona Charger that showed up. The show management didn't have a "class" assigned for him, so they put him with the C bodies.

When entering the NYer this year, it was supposed to be in the invitational Big Body Muscle display. After the designated parking spots were determined my car and the 300H were in the general area, and we both didn't know why we were not closer to the main display. We agreed the Pontiac guys with the 421's & 428's probably said something to management since we were the two non-Pontiacs that showed up.
At the end of the day, I think we had a better spot in the convention hall than they did.

Dave's car was supposed to be in the Big Body Muscle display, but Magnum Restorations had asked him park in their booth with the HurricaneBird, probably so they could display the quality of their work. The owner of Magnum told me another shop got the job to restore the Daytona.

Gawd, that car is nice.

On a side note, Magnum also did the restoration on the 300H that was at the show too.

The owner of the Hemi Daytona above also had 8 Superbirds at the venue, and I'm not sure but he might have had one other Daytona there too.

Including a Mr Norm's car that the SMART owner has already started to restore. He can't live with the way it looks now.

BTW, speaking of restorations, I found out this car was in the Barnfind display a few years ago...

@sixpkrt I'm curious about the Hurricanebird, as in what exactly happened (aside from it being pushed out by crashing waves). Did you rap with the owner by chance? I wonder if it was completely submerged, how much corrosion did it suffer, and did all the fluids leak out, etc....

And, thanks for more pics! Your NY is lookin' sharp.

Didn't speak with the owner or knew if he was at the show. The owner of Magnum said the car was sold to a new owner since the hurricane hit Florida and is who he will be restoring the car for.
The car was submerged under water and the interior was trashed. They had already pulled the carpeting out and some components in the dash when I saw the car. You could see remnants of sea salt throughout the car as well.
It was also mentioned right after the MCACN show, the car was going to be shipped to have it stripped and then acid dipped to hopefully stop the impending rust that would be caused by the salt water.
The car is expected to be with Magnum as long as 2 years, possibly more. Some of the worst body damage happened by the straps when they were turning the car right-side-up.

Far out. I'm not a member on any of the other "FXBO" sites but perhaps its progress will be shared on FBBO....
