Can't figure out link.

Like the statement "" Last chance before I part out... ""
Part what out.... Parting that car out would take a while to realize
any significant amount of funds and would leave a pile of unwanted mess
when he gets tired of removing parts....

So what's wrong with this car? And why hasn't our ohama contingency already found a new home? ****, if I had the money I'd buy it and let someone buy it off me later, fr the same price, and I'm not even a Formal guy, yet!

I got after the seller on facebook about the crappy description in the craigslist ad and only 2 pictures. I had never seen it posted anywhere before on facebook. He was upset about the fact nobody has come forth to buy it on facebook.

It is destined to be derbied if it doesn't sell. Sellar said it has rust in the quarters and the wiper linkage is broken. Neither which is stated in his ads about the car.

As far as parts go, he will make most of the asking money.
Front bumper on these New Yorkers are around $350 or more to some.
Rear maybe $200.
Drivetrain maybe $800 or more to some. Or just $800 for the 440 alone to some.
Body $1000 maybe $1200 depending on buyer.

Just a sad truth. This seller does not care much if it is sold otherwise he would put more effort into trying to sell it.

Agreed it's too clean to part out!

Agreed on the derby parts prices, but the guy may find he needs to ship some of those heavy parts, too. Not every locale is gonna run derby classes for these cars as they are getting hard to find, and can't run a derby if not enough cars show up.

My derby buddy said most derbies around here are EFI/FWD with minimal reinforcement allowed (ie only safety stuff permitted).

They still run big cars near me, and they haven't run out of them yet.

I think most come to him for the big stuff. Or meet him at a show. That's how I see the big stuff gets to it's new owner when I am on the demo Facebook pages.

Around here I believe it is mostly 80's and newer but I don't attend them nor see a lot of promotions. There is a winter one every year that allows the older stuff. Big show a lot travel to see and participate in.

Others just hoard them to sell to others who can run them.

Live and let live...I guess....But, I just don't understand the derby mindset or brain.:realcrazy:

The fun of destruction. It's just more fun to destroy the nice ones for longer enjoyment before something breaks.......I guess that is why..
