steering box removal & installation

OK, so it looks like I'm going to tackle replacing the power steering gear box myself. Would have been obviously way easier if it was done before the engine was put in, but it wasn't.

In any event, does anyone have any pointers/tips on stuff I should do prior to removal or the best way to pull it out? I figure I should ask before starting to get correct tools, etc.

I ran into a problem where there was a hose connection that should have been taken off of the original to reinstall to the new replacement. I didn't know I was supposed to keep it and the guys at Napa didn't either! So imagine how that conversation went along with trying to find another one.

So...keep any hose connections off of the old box. I was lucky enough to do it when I had the motor out.
