Looking for things that are likely to break soon and leave me stranded I took a look at the steering coupler (biscuit) and noticed it has a large crack through one side. Options seem to be an OEM style chunk of rubber that costs $200, switching to a universal joint that's about the same or maybe a rag joint in place of the solid rubber puck. Any of the threads I've found have dead links to the parts. I'm wondering can you use something like this http://www.jegs.com/i/Dorman-Products/326/31000/10002/-1?parentProductId= sourced from a local parts store or is it just plain not going to work? I'm not worried about looking correct as long as it works correctly and doesn't cause a dangerous situation.

Try Bouchillonperformance.com, look under power steering components. They were $120.00 last time I looked still expensive but better than $200.00 on E-bay.

Damn. I never knew Dorman had rag joints. And for 16 bucks, yet!!
I'm making a mental note on that.

Hockey puck... 1.80 at sports authority.
TOO rigid. A rag joint needs to have some flexibility.
Truck tire. Free on I-95.
