Anyone ever have a hard time removing steering wheel? I have the nut off a puller on it and it doesn't seem to want to pull off using a 1/2" ratchet with reasonable force. Should I use an impact? I don't want to pull the threads out of the steering wheel. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks.

try putting tension on it and smacking the end of the puller with a hammer. the shock sometimes pops them loose.

Don’t hammer it too hard ‘67 and up have a collapsible column and are mounted using plastic break away spacers. A couple light raps should do it. A little vibration from an impact wrench could help as well. If you have good bolts and screwed all the way through the threads, it shouldn’t pull through.

Any way is cool, if it works.
I usually leave the steering wheel on and drop the column by lowering the nuts on the column mounting bracket studs.
Best of luck with your project.
