This breaks my heart. As I've mentioned in previous posts, my wife hails from there and we've been making our way back there every summer since we started dating over 10 years ago. We got married in the Pabst Mansion. Had our reception at the Pabst Brewery. I LOVE Summerfest. I love Milwaukee. I've seen many a great musical act at Summerfest and it simply has become synonymous with my recent summer road trips to and fro. Oddly enough, I'm not one for the city life (as I live in Center Barnstead, NH), however Milwaukee is a great city to frequent. Beer, cheese, beer cheese soup, beer buses, brats, Brewers, tailgating, concerts, Harley's, more beer...
As a positive byproduct of Covid though, I have recently joined my local American Legion in Alton Bay so I can at least have one open watering hole accompanied by my American brethren. Recently I told my wife I was glad Milwaukee didn't host the dnc, that way it keeps Milwaukee great and out of the hands of the so-called "protesters".
Yet I digress, I hope Summerfest returns to its original format, but in all honesty it's changed so much over the past 5 years, even without Covid. See you soon Milwaukee, see you soon...
