Hi, first time rebuilding a 727 transmission, i cant separate the inputshaft/directdrum from outputshaft. No mather how much force i apply, has anyone experianced something like this? Any tips?

Transmission was slipping in first and second. Third and reverse worked fine when I drove it to my garage

Interesting. I have never seen this and I have done a few. Do the shafts turn separately or are they locked. My guess is they are locked. Maybe the clutch melted down and locked everything together.

The binding might be due to heavy wear on the clutches to the point that the toothed edges bend slightly and catch on the splines of the front annulus gear assembly. If you can pry on an edge and it springs back, then this is a possible cause. When I have encountered this in the past, a lot of prying back and forth on opposite sides was required to break it loose. In one case, the binding was so extreme, I had to drill two holes in the driving shell to drive it apart with some rods in the holes. I replaced the shell.

Had to drill the sunshell and use a hammer and punch, 2 out of 4 clutches came off the inputshaft, had to pry the last 2 off. Not much friction material left
