These cars where built at the Shelby complex in California. They where intended to be a spec car (all cars built exactly to the same spec) for an entry level road racing series. Priced about $50 grand. 3.3 American made Dodge push rod engine (mini van). These cars raced very good. The series was competitive. They are still raced today
