The People Have Spoken...

This is one Chrysler product that he owned.

CUBS WIN, CUBS WIN, oh **** I woke up. I thought of writing something insightful, like my concern about clean water, clean air, safe products, a safe banking system, access to health care, but men of industry have always done the write thing for altruistic reasons. Ah, sound asleep again.

I will. Link please?
LOL, haven't searched for that one yet, but I'm sure as soon as Prez-Elect is in office the net will be scrubbed of such treats by his talented Russian associates that he doesn't associate with. C'mon Stan, you are the "Rainman" of web surfing, find one, I dare you to make it your next avatar......:poke:

I'm cautiously pleased that Trump won. I'm ecstatic beyond description that Hillary lost.
...bucking seat belt...
I don't think I could have said it any better. Healthcare was going to be screwed no matter what, I am curious to see how bad it gets...

I have never voted for anyone... only against... maybe that can change someday in the future.

Now as to my overall enthusiasm... I watched what I could stomach of the debates... They were even more damaging to Hillary than I would have though, but didn't really make me like Donnie any better.

I asked this question elsewhere and some had a hard time with it after saying the majority spoke. Trump received 47.5% of the total vote. That means 52.5% voted for a non-Trump candidate. So how does 47.5% represent a majority of America because in my basic math skills it doesn't. I see the people split down the middle. The Electoral College is an anachronism from years past where the landed elite of 1796 didn't think the populace was capable of decision making on their own.

Personally I have despised Trump since the late 70's. That hasn't changed as of today. Would love to say I hope he does well but can't quite bring myself to say that. I have a deep hatred for the man going way back as I dislike fakes. Consequently I hope he fails as all fakes deserve to. As I teach my son you make a choice and you live with the consequences good or bad. Live and learn.

Remember this is a man who takes pride in that he doesn't read. Which loyalist is going to summarize National Security briefings for him and open that can of worms? Loyalists, yes men, making policy because the boss can't be bothered to read things. What a disaster that can be as businessmen can be just as corrupt as politicians with personal agendas.

Since he is also the man who has made racist, sexist, hateful, intolerant comments about others he is now going to be the face of America to all the world. He represents us when among other countries as to who we are. He is supposed to represent what is good about America and Americans. Well I am not that and he in no way can ever represent me in any shape, manner, or form.

The world depends on America in many, many ways to be the shiny light is some form. Yet, today, we have despots pointing to America and say see it doesn't work. That cannot be allowed as this is 2016 not 1926 and some country has to lead by a strong example of what is right and fair. I know if I were one of four world leaders right now I would be planning my possible moves next year to take advantage of Trump's well known shortcomings. It's going to be a rocky four years.

One up and coming despot is Duterte in the Philippines who has seen over 3,000 Filipinos killed in extra-judicial killings, so far, because they were considered "suspected" drug dealers. No trials or even charges brought. He is upset at Obama for bringing up those killings as being wrong. His excuse is that he is doing what needs to be done. Duterte has congratulated Trump and believes Trump will understand those killings and instead work with him rather than lecture him on human rights. He believes Trump will look the other way. Then both are real quality human beings.

We need to do better than what we have done this year. As long as the country lurches from right to left and then back again nothing will ever get solved. Only the middle ground can solve major problems. Yet the middle has been obliterated on both sides making me an orphan. Media has divided the country into two opposing camps that can't see past each other. Both sides have been brainwashed enough to literally not consider the other side as people, as fellow Americans. That may be Ok for Packer fans vs. Bear fans but the U.S. is not a sports team.
I could not agree more with what you wrote here. I feel strongly about everything you have stated and put so well. I fear the next four years for our country. I think we will make large steps backwards on social issues and with republicans in control will push us back to a much more conservative base and values which I do not share.I wish Sanders won the primary and was the choice to run for president. If so I think this election would have had a different outcome. I am worried .
