The "silver" t/stat is what the OEMs have used for years, including Chrysler after the "cad color" Robert Shaw style t/stat went away. The RS style thermostats ARE a better way to do things, but the alternatives will work good, too.
If you read their old tech literature, the Robert Shaw's design was a superior design, but in the end, they all do the same job. Not unlike Chrysler typically over-engineering their cars compared to GM, back then.

Are you sure you need a 160* thermostat?

My thought was to let it open earlier, but you're right it's supposed to be 180.
